New Sony Ultrabook with i5 processor (with SLAT support), Win 8 activated

Yet in Program & features there is NO Hyper-V

    Any ideas why?

could it be the edition on win 8 you have? if Core , I believe that option doesnt exist. Add RT to that, it doesn't have it

    Hi,

I'm assuming that you are running the PRO version.

Run Msinfo32 and scroll down to the bottom, are all 4 Hyper-v options marked as "yes"?
If not, make sure all virtualization options are enabled in BIOS.

Even if you Don't have SLAT support, you should be able to install one of the Hyper-v tools under "add / remove windos features" just not run virtual machines on that system.

OK, it is the Windows 8 basic (which does not have the Hyper-V available)
Easy, thanks guys (so far I stayed clear of 8, and it looks like I will carry on this way)
