Yes it's easily fixed as long as you feel comfortable disassembling the box. If you bought it NEW then return for a replacement.
Hi billmcct, thanks for replying. It's an old used PC so it's not new. Their policy is: If I open the side door they will not return it, so I haven't opened it yet to see how it looks from the inside. You think it's easily fixed? I don't know if this is permanent damage that would require new parts to fix. Would I have to order some new parts and replace the parts that are bent? Or I can carefully bend it into place from the inside with dull pliers or something? Any advice is appreciated.
From the screenshots it's not that bad. If where you bought it is local take it to them and ask them to fix it. Otherwise if the machine runs good, I don't see where you could do any damage fixing it yourself. A lot of people just don't seem to have any confidence in their own abilities.
It depends on what you payed for it ? ........... and what you want to do with it ? ............ and if you can afford to throw it away if it turns out to be unrepairable or otherwise broken . I always ask myself why someone sells a computer ? .......... and the usual reasons are either its f**ked or its out of date = No drivers for it . Maybe someone just droped it and now it has a dent and its still OK ............ but its a question of your time and cash . Can you afford the time to sort it out ...... or the cash to throw it away ?
thats not always true some people sell computers to make money or to buy a newer one but theirs is still good for use...there is a huge market for use computers and a buyer must be real dumb to buy a machine that totally trashed is hard to hide something like that.
Thanks guys. They are in another town, it took 3 days to arrive, so if I decide to return it I would have to ship it back to where I bought it from. I have used it non stop for the last 2-3 days and it works normally, no problems. The only weird thing I noticed is this: When I plug the Power Supply, the PC turns itself ON automatically for 2 seconds and then turns itself OFF again. When I force Shut Down, by holding the Power Button for 5-6 sec, the PC turns OFF, 2-3 seconds later it turns itself ON automatically for 2 seconds and then it turns itself OFF again. I haven't had a Dell Desktop PC before so I don't know if this is normal operation for these types of Desktops. I paid 230$ for it. The 1st service tag letter is erased and can't be read, others are: H9K022 . It's an old Dell Optiplex from 2012/2013 .
Unfortunately, the close-up images of the rear of the case do not help at all with identifying that Dell OptiPlex. It will have an "express service code" number on it that will confirm its identity.
