I am going to hijack this thread as I'm having the exact same error as the original poster when trying to load the certificate on my dell dimension 9100 with the bios modded Slic 2.1.

    Any help is much appreciated!

I should also mention that I'm using OpaTool v0.7 and am getting this error on the C option (install key).

On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a0xC004F015' to display the error text. Error: 0xC004F015

    I have figured why:
Your partial key: Windows Product Key: *****-*****-V6MGY-G834Y-Y8QH3

    http://www.mydigitallife.net/2009/0...uct-keys-for-release-candidate-rc-activation/

Is an RC key  why should somebody apply an release candidate key to an official version???

Yes get an untouched RTM version of it and do a clean install....
I don't know why you guys are using such a crap (frankenbuild or something..or RC) and do not make absolutely sure to use an untouched ISO of the RTM version.

This is a basic requirement for a stable and safe OS.

@ ALL keep that in mind!!!

    I agree.

Since Microsoft is nice enough to offer the images free of charge to the public there is no need to take the gamble and use any images from filesharing/filehosting sites.

Links to untouched original Microsoft images here.

There are 'Box' images at the beginning of the thread, but these mean extra work. (Unboxing.)

Hence scroll down until you find the ISO links as the ISOs can be burned as they are.

As for what Edition/Image to get; you may choose between Pro, HomePremium, and Enterprise.

The Pro and HomePremium images can be turned into an All-Editions image (allows Edition Selection upon installation) by removing ei.cfg from the Sources folder.

Thus if you want Ultimate you can download and modify either of them.

Activation is via OEM:SLP (SLIC21, Cert and SLP Key). Pro can be used as Volume Edition also, which means KMS activation is possible too.

The Enterprise image is different, as it contains Enterprise only. (No way to turn it into an All-Editions image.)

Also Enterprise is a Volume Edition, which means can be easily activated via KMS.

Being Volume Only it does not (and can not) use SLIC/Cert/SLP Key.

Hope this info helps to better make a decision.

At any rate, get yourself a genuine image ASAP because you never know what 'extras' an image downloaded from a filesharing/filehosting site might contain...

I reinstalled last night with the untouched ISO (verified hash). After I installed I double verified SLIC 2.1 status and used OPA's tool to install the dell cert and ultimate key, everything went flawlessly.

For reference, if anyone searches for Dimension 9100 looking for Win7 activation steps and finds this thread shoot me a PM and I'd be glad to help.
