Each product key can activate a specific number of computers. MAK activation is required only once, unless there are significant hardware changes. If the use of volume-licensed media is not controlled, excessive activations result in a depletion of the activation limit. There are two ways to activate computers using MAK: * MAK Proxy Activation: Enables centralized activation request on behalf of multiple desktops with one connection to Microsoft. MAK Proxy Activation will be available in the solution code name Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT) which is currently under development with expected availability in 2007. * MAK Independent Activation: Requires each target computer to independently connect and activate against Microsoft. IMO not. Activation is against M$ or against a server which is activated against M$ already and provides multiple licenses. But not against SLIC.

win 2k8 activated?? Has anybody been able to activate win 2k8 with a cert ,a moded bios and a royalty key. Like it's done with vista ??.. I tried vista but dropped it for win 2k3 . I like win xp but win 2k3 is a better OS ( running as a workstation). Some people say that Win 2k8 is better than vista , like 2k3 is better than XP. So is there an example of an 2k8 slp2 activation??..
I beg you, pleas hide the MAK keys in some way, this is very important for further use of the keys, make it just available for registert users or via PM. Thank you, Zoé
If the keys are to be taken out, just PM me. Or the thread starters edits his post. Make sure to save the keys somewhere...
could u toss me a copy of the keys, need one that works for server 2008 x64, i missed the ms rep b4 it came out so i didnt get my normal free copy voucher
To the best of my knowledge, the MAK keys do not need nor require a SLIC bios mod. The MAK keys activate against a M$ server.
