so i have a dell comp with the key of WXPP on the side of the panel but i have no cd for installing what can i do?? to installed the os??
if he installs the oem copy of xp it will activate him but it might require to speak to a microsoft CSR
also what can i do if i have the cd of w7 oem from dell but no key can i install it in a comp with out a key??
They will likely refer him to Dell at this point..it is my experience..He will def have to call someone...
Maybee you right on my experience before i actualy understood how oem-slp worked i allways installed windows with the key on the side and it allways activated my computers. but you are right that also depends. and im talking about couple of years ago. best thing for him to do is get a dell oem cd and i gave him the link. or use the vlk to oem program. making a oem cd its not that easy as some might say. it would had been another story if we are talking about vista or 7
i just read some where that i can copy the files that contain my windows activations and copy and paste when i reinstall the windows again is this true, possible???
but it wont be a crack if i had a real key andand the os was running in a comp correct can i just do that??
The repair install will remove the crack and install fresh system files...it then needs to be activated. If you have SLP in the bios and add the OEMBIOS files to the repair install, it will activate automatically.. Sounds like you are in over your head...
it occur me, cause i sometimes repair friends comps but they sometimes cant find their os cd, in theory if i copy the files that contain the windows activation in a usb flash drive, then with a diff windows cd not the original of the comps and install the os on the comp (which is affected and which i have copy the activation file on a usb flash drive), then copy the files on the usb flash drive then i should had copy back the original activation files.... will this work??
What you could do is: install windows xp fresh install after that download vlk to oem also download the appropriate bios files than just run the oem to vlk tool and just follow the instructions, thats what i do all the time
