    Noop; its not same as re-installing. Your installed programs, documents are kept while repair installing.

    what are the chance of me facing this problem
    21. Check to see if you are missing any user files. If you are, then you can copy them from the C:\Windows.old or the hiddenprotected operating system C:\$INPLACE.~TR and C:\WINDOWS.~Q backup folders. (see screenshot below)

    You have a chance of facing a problem every time you boot your computer. The situation is you do in fact have a problem and you asked for help here ... and you got that help.

    You have a choice. You can either live with your problem of do some sort of reinstall; a repair install is suggested. Yes there is always the chance something might go wrong so backup all your data and maybe even make a system image. With the image you can at least get back to where you are right now.

    Then do the "start up repair". Best to do as Tito said though and be certain you have clean media. If you can't do that, you are going to have to take another path. You just have to decide what you want to do and then do it.

    But if your system is a frakked as you seem to indicate it is, you'll likely be better off wiping the disk and doing a clean fresh install ... using clean media. Again, your computer; your call.

    If you system is w7 X64 with sp1 you should try to repair with the same DVD/USB W7SP1x64 by booting directly on it.

    You are using an old hacktivator which has modified core system files & installed banned Lenovo OEM:SLP key. Startup repair never helps you to resolve these issues.

    Only repair install (or even better, clean re-install) is helpful for you ~ why can't you understand??

    :confused:

    so i have only one choice then repair install
    and you were right about startup repair not helping i tried with w7 ultimate with SP1 and it said no problems found again
    so it's repair install then :) but i am not sure when i will do it and also there is a lot of risks involved like making no difference and losing files etc
    and one more thing while i checked the report after the startup repair it said error 0x0 after every operation for eg
    Name: Check for updates
    Result: Completed successfully. Error code = 0x0
    Time taken = 0 ms
    Test Performed:

    and few more

    can you please tell me what that error indicates i was just wondering? also its clear that repair install is the only option available now

    and also can somebody answer few questions before the thread is dead

    0=what is clean media? >>>>>In the first comment you mentioned that do a repair install "using"CLEAN MEDIA<<<<

    1=the question above

    2=if anything goes wrong will i lose any data when performing repair install?

    3=if any thing happens it will only affect local disk "c" right because it will be there where those its repair install as the operating system is instALLED there>>>am i correct?

    4=after the repair install i don't have to move my files back or anything and install drivers or am i finish there or will i have to do more things?
    and that it please please answer my questions and thank you all of you for helping :hug2:

    Answers to your questions:

    1= clean media means a clean copy or ISO of the operating system, in other words NOTHING has been altered on it. Your old disk has been altered and that is why your having these problem's

    2= sure if something goes wrong you will lose something. Make sure you read and do exactly what your suppose to do and everything should be fine. For me I would back up everything that is important just in case.

    3= you are correct

    4= after repair install you should not have to do anything. (providing you did everything correctly) You should be done at that point.

    And as for the error code, who knows?? Error codes can mean different things in different situations.

    A repair install is to repair the windows system files only and should not affect anything else on your computer!!
