When you run an Office 2010 application, say, Word 2010, osppsvc.exe automatically shows up as a process/service in Windows Task Manager.

I'm fine with that, as long as Word 2010 continues running. The problem, though, is, after you exit Word 2010, osppsvc.exe does not automatically exit. Having to manually terminate osppsvc.exe from Windows Task Manager is troublesome.

    Any solutions?

If you want to stop this service
open command prompt with admin previlege and enter this command

    net stop osppsvc

    thats all!
You can use it in a bat file also.

If i do "net stop osppsvc" in command prompt, and say, it stops this service,
will i need to restart or re-enable it, before i can run Office 2010?

No need to restart the service before opening office applications.Just use it like the way you do.
In win 7 this service always keeps running while in xp i have to start it if i want to see office activation status.

    It works, to some extent.

But how do you automate the task?
In other words, after you exit Office 2010,
    osppsvc.exe automatically closes itself.

It seems like a batch file is needed?
I don't know anything about writing it.

osppsvc.exe stands for office software protection platform in other words without it Office will B!T#H off with repairs or crash.

I don't see that problem anywhere on my PC or in the processes. My Office 2010 runs fine.

Probably your version of Office was tampered/modified?

    Good day...

The reason why that software was terminated was that it made office 2010 unstable....
The links from the REPO are completely good since I rely on another thread to keep them up....
Now that I have that outta the way I'd go with the KMS route for now...

It was also deemed that since I don't have the means to make a office 2010 service emulator that it kind of wasn't worth the effort to try that approach...
Which is what would have had to be done in that case....
In either case I like what I'm trying to do right now which is trying to perfect a backup and restore thing....

I tried the above method by creating a InactivityShutdownDelay.
    Didn't work.
