Basically I uninstalled office 2013 so that I could run office 2016. However, I kept getting an error saying i needed to uninstall some office files before being able to install office 2016. I guess the uninstall didn't get rid of everything so i went in to my program files and deleted all the Office15 folders.

However, I am still getting the error in this link:

I have even run CCleaner pro to fix the registry errors. It managed to fix a bunch of them related to office but it didn't fix the issue.

Could somebody please help me? :weep:

Was office 2013, by any chance, 32bit? And are you now trying to install office 2016 64bit? If so, try installing office 2016 32bit (MSFT recommends office 32bit for most users. Only users who are planning to use/maintain large databases should use 64bit office).

good point, no need for 64bit office anyway, if the 32 installs then you are golden. Glad I thought of that!!! hehe

Yep it was 32 bit but i've already tried both of them, and neither work. For 64 bit the above error comes up. For 32 bit it says that the setup could not find any products to install.

I forgot to mention that when I uninstalled office 2013 32 bit it was actually because the license ran out (I got it for 4 years for school for $5). I then went to kickasstorrents and downloaded multiple versions of office 2013 but none of them worked and I think one of them may have caused this issue.

Thanks I'll keep trying to solve the issue but don't think I will be able to.

I was just wondering if anybody knows how to completely get rid of all remnants of office 2013? Its looks like I'm going to have to do a complete reformat of my computer which I really do not want to do.

The thing is I can't even install office because there are some hidden files somewhere. If i go to add/remove programs, there's no office there. When i through and search my program files, I can't find office there either.

What's really weird is if i install office using office 365, everything gets installed (but I don't have a serial key which makes it pointless). I have no idea whats going on with my computer.

Does anyone else have an easy to follow guide to reformat windows 7? Never reformatted before.
