I need help on how to remove this CMOS battery from a laptop(pictures)

    I don't see a battery. The component labeled "VIA" I think is a graphics GPU. (The "BGAS" silkscreen means "ball grid array socket") At any rate, just do a search in Google: "CMOS battery" + the make and model of your laptop. Should get plenty of results. Also lots of sellers on eBay for just about every CMOS battery made. Good luck!

    better tell us what the motherboard is so we can find you a diagram before you pull all its teeth too :biggrin:

    Holy c**p, you have great eyesight! I couldn't read any of that. Well, not until I opened the image in Picasa, blew it the hell up and adjusted contrast/fill.

    Did you try removing the silicon top from your sound micro controller thinking it was a BIOS battery?

    If so good luck with your repairs.
