Can someone please tell me how to blind flash the BIOS of an Acer Aspire 6530G using the Fn+ESC key method with a USB stick and if you can supply links to the software and the correct BIOS file needed, that would be perfect. The BIOS file from the Acer download website only has a .exe file in a DOS folder, and I don't know how to use it.
Acer is very simple. Download the BIOS from the official website. After that just run the. Exe or DOS. Wait until the process is complete. Will flashing your BIOS. After completing the process turn the machine off and on again.
Thanks for your reply. My fault, I should have said that my Aspire 6530G will not turn on. When I try to turn it on I just get a blank screen, the lights flash on, the CD drive and fan spin up for a few seconds then everything goes off and starts again over and over. That's why I need to know how to do a blind flash of the BIOS. I've seen it done on different models of Aspire on YouTube, but not with an Aspire 6530G. Nothing I've tried based on tutorials works
Thanks for the reply. I went to the forum and downloaded the Phoenix Crisis Recovery disk extracted it all and made a USB recovery stick. When I turned the laptop on with Fn+ESC keys the USB stick light and power light flashed (as with all other attempts) screen still blank though. After a couple of minutes the power light stopped flashing (a first) but the screen remained blank the whole time. I waited 15 minutes and tried to turn off - nothing happened, so I removed the power cable. Now when I put the power cable in the power light comes on, but when I press the power button absolutely nothing happens. l tried disonnecting the CMOS battery but that hasn't done anything. I think I have paper weighted my laptop, any ideas? I'm not holding out much hope
I renamed a .exe bios file for the Aspire 6530G from the Acer website to BIOS.WPH. That didn't do anything. Then I found a modded BIOS .WPH file for the Aspire 6530G (which in hindsite I probably shouldn't have used). How do I use your BIOS file now? My laptop won't turn on at all, no response from the power button. I'm starting to think that the BIOS chip is going to need replacing, but it's probably going to cost a small fortune just to get anyone to look at it, let alone replace it.
well u bricked it with the mod wph .. no power is bad yep USB SPI Programer like EN25T80 would be best bet.. but the wph has to be modded to work for bios.bin (cut platform data)
That sounds complicated. Unless you want to run me through the entire process (bearing in mind I'm a noob at BIOS flashing - which is why I should probably have left it alone). Probably easier to swap out the motherboard, if I can find one that's not too expensive. Thanks so much for your help though, I really appreciate it
