Ok I dont know what to do here I have any IBM ThinkPad R30 its an older laptop. Anyways I wiped the drive and re installed XP and it goes all the way through the install but when I come to the part where I have to name the computer and what not the keyboard and mouse simply dont work. I have installed XP before and never had this problem but now I do and have no idea what to do. Im broke so I cant take it in anywhere so if someone here could help that would be great!

    Thanks for your time

Have you tried using an external usb keyboard/mouse?
Most laptops are made in "Runs", and each run my have a different motherboard, chipset and or peripheral connectivity chip combination.
If these are not identified properly during Windows initial installation, your onboard input devices may not function.

If you have had XP running on it before this is most strange. Try setting the bios options to their default
