    Hello everybody.
    I have an HP Pavilion zd7144EA Notebook PC which could not boot properly (It stucks on boot screen with HP logo).
    I have decided to flash its bios, so I have desoldered its EEPROM to program it using an EEPROM programmer (I have a Willem EPROM Programmer PCB50B).
    I have downloaded its BIOS file from this page: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp28501-29000/sp28962.exe
    then have extracted it using 7-Zip, then have re-exctracted the extracted file WINPHLASHF34.exe using 7-Zip again.
    Inside, I have found 5 BIOS files (RYAN1F34.P31, RYAN1F34.P34, RYAN1F34.Q34, RYAN1F34.Q36 and RYAN1F34.R10).

    The question is which one should I use to flash the EEPROM !?

    Help me please. :worthy:
    Thank you for your understanding.

    ntflash determines id of board

    [NT1 ]
    018610DE=RYAN1F34.R10
    031A10DE=RYAN1F34.R10

    [NT1P]
    031A10DE=RYAN1F34.P31
    032410DE=RYAN1F34.P34

    [NT1Q]
    032410DE=RYAN1F34.Q34
    034710DE=RYAN1F34.Q36

    if im correct 10de is the nvidia vendor id of the chip its trying to identify (the device id)

    Do you mean the mainboard ID, or the EEPROM device ID ?
    If mainboard ID, so how could I identify the mainboard ID, or where the ID is written to !?

    I have found my BIOS file (Just with luck):
    In the motherboard, it is written NT1P

    [NT1P]
    031A10DE=RYAN1F34.P31
    032410DE=RYAN1F34.P34

    So one of the two above is my BIOS file.
    I have tried RYAN1F34.P31 BIOS file, then flashed the EEPROM, & just with luck, the laptop comes back to life :biggrin:
