Try resetting BIOS to defaults if Urie's suggestion of an SP1 or higher CD doesn't work.

it's an original copy of Windows XP RTM, with SP3 integrated... I'll try your method (getting a Dell XP CD)

@ x86, Misaki2010 also said options I mentioned for USB were not available in bios even though I read about it from the dell GX280 motherboard manual o_O

And when you boot from this CD your USB keyboard and mouse won't work at all?

Can you even "press any key to boot from this CD"?

If so, at what point does the k/b and mouse stop working?

Sorry, yes - I thought it might just be the case that he didn't have the particular options you mentioned. Those were supposed to be available under Onboard Devices, while the Keyboard Errors under POST Behaviour...

Still, I am a bit confused as Misaki mentioned that he doesn't have the option to disable those. So are these just greyed out or don't exist at all? I am sure we are looking at the right & only docu for GX280

Hi guys, sorry for late reply, I finally got XP to install, I used a DELL iso and it worked :D everything worked just fine in boot, mouse worked and keyboard also... the only problem were the drivers (audio, ethernet and video) but I fixed them in no time :D thank you all for your support and suggestions :D this topic can be closed (i think, if nobody needs it any longer) :D:worthy:
