Original copy of xp what version it must be windows sp1 or above for you motherboard or even better get hold of a dell xp cd.
it's an original copy of Windows XP RTM, with SP3 integrated... I'll try your method (getting a Dell XP CD)
@ x86, Misaki2010 also said options I mentioned for USB were not available in bios even though I read about it from the dell GX280 motherboard manual
And when you boot from this CD your USB keyboard and mouse won't work at all? Can you even "press any key to boot from this CD"? If so, at what point does the k/b and mouse stop working?
Sorry, yes - I thought it might just be the case that he didn't have the particular options you mentioned. Those were supposed to be available under Onboard Devices, while the Keyboard Errors under POST Behaviour... Still, I am a bit confused as Misaki mentioned that he doesn't have the option to disable those. So are these just greyed out or don't exist at all? I am sure we are looking at the right & only docu for GX280
it's A08 Keyboard Errors are enabled... the mouse doesn't work either... yes, I couldn't see any USB options...
Look again there must be settings there. in A08 bios update even more in A03 bios update So look again it must be settings in bios.
Hi guys, sorry for late reply, I finally got XP to install, I used a DELL iso and it worked everything worked just fine in boot, mouse worked and keyboard also... the only problem were the drivers (audio, ethernet and video) but I fixed them in no time thank you all for your support and suggestions this topic can be closed (i think, if nobody needs it any longer)
