    Hey.

I have w7 installed on my 320gb disk. I want to splitt the partison. I want to leave the windows disk on C (50GB), and have a free disk D (270GB). Windows will only let me to splitt 50% -50% (C=160GB and D=160GB). What program is the best for this opperation??? Tried partison magic, but w7 says "not compatible".

    Sorry if bad english:)

    Try Easeus Partition Manager
It is the easiest and most customizable partition tool I have used. Windows 7 compatible and will let you set you partition size to any size you want. Oh and it is free!!!!

I use Acronis Disk Director Suite v10.0.2160.

    Works like a charm...

    Mine is:

    C: = 40 GB
    D: = 425 GB

That is because of CD/DVD drive it has moved new partition after it on the list. Go to windows disk management and remove the CD/DVD drive letter it will probably be labelled D, then change 270 GB partition letter to D after that give CD/DVD letter E.

It doesn't really matter what one he used, They all work except partition magic it is outdated. Partition Wizard Free and Easeus Partition Manager Free i would say are basically the same whole point is that they are free and really easy to use.

I forgot to mention to david toska that you can just use Partition Wizard to change drive letters easier that widows disk management

Yes it DOES matter which one he used. Some people might not be as computer smart as you. Other people might want to use the same application he is using. Let us know which one you used, david toska
