IE 8 vs IE 7 performance

    Youtube and gmail sites keep annoying me about upgrading IE6. Ughhh.

    I see no major differences between IE 7 and IE 8 running on windows XP. I guess performance is the main thing. Does anyone know which browser among these performs faster?

    Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome are you best options there are both free and perform much better than IE 7 or 8

    Yes, other browsers are better. But if you really need to use ie then use 8, I noticed that it takes a long time to start but it respects the webstandards better than ie7 and it's faster.

    Thank you Stannieman. I'm using Opera for most of my web browsing, but there are just tons of sites out there that don't work in anything but IE. I will install IE 8 for these sites.
