I heard they eventually implemented the horrible font rendering of IE on Windows 8/8.1 to IE on Windows 7... Is it true?

I use IE10, and I still get the same old font rendered as before. Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the new Win8 font either.

Yeah, I know... IE10 on Win7 is still using the normal font rendering with cleartype...

But I'm talking about IE11 on Win7... Did you try it?

Yes, but quickly rolled back to IE10 due to incompatibilities with some websites, but the font was the same as before.

I've tried the Fr language version in my Win7 x64 Fr.
This explorer is fast (can be now compared to Chrome) and provides few good stuff.
I liked it but there's a bug with Money 2005 Fr which doesn't display properly.
    Money.jpg
The same bug has been found on Win 8.1 which integrates IE11, while everything is fine with Win 8.
    :(
So I had to roll back to IE10...
Hope they'll correct that bug which seems to be only in MS Money French versions...

I have been using IE 11 DP on win 7 pro x86 (office PC) and frankly, I find it to finally usable, fast, and more to my liking. I have been using FF for a long time (since 2006) and finally I have a IE version that I consider competitive with FF. Have given up on chrome. On FF and on a X86 machine, I find problems on Adobe Flash 11.3+ (when they launched an integrated x64/x86 installer) and FF19+. So I am stuck with FF18 and Adobe Flash 11.2

Nice, thank you! The good thing is you know what I'm talking about. I don't understand why many dudes cannot see the problem. That bad font rendering is for screens with extremely high PPI. As you might know, only a few expensive as hell PC monitors are available and these are usually for medical purposes and such or... simply for smartphones/tablets -MS' goal while giving the PC user base the middle finger.

Thanks for this, and I have one question: Is it also exists IE11 DP for Windows 8 ? ;)

MS has no plans to make a standalone version of IE11 for Win8 RTM, cause they want everyone running 8 to upgrade to 8.1 when the final version is released.

Now, if there only was a good adblock for IE11 i'd consider using it...
