As far as I know, MS has stated that Windows 8.0 will NOT be getting IE11, and that users should update for free to Windows 8.1 to get IE11.
Yes, the version that's available at the moment, is the RC or Release Preview, the final version according to MS will be released next month!
IE 11 on win 8.1 is wonderful. Just hope that it is also released for 8 and 7. My primary browser is Firefox (80%), followed by IE and Chrome (almost equal usage). I like IE11 a lot but am on 8 with no plans for the next 2-3 months to move to 8.1.
I would be using 8.1, if it weren't for 2 things, game compatibility and deprecated API, cause some of my games require ddraw and 16-bit colour mode, and win8.1 doesn't support that. At least you've found a OS that works for you, and for me Win7 works just as well, with no plans to upgrade.
You definitely get a version of IE11 with Windows 8.1. Here it is alongside the "new and improved" Windows 8.1 Start button.
Apparently no official date has been annouced, some guys said it will be on the late of november but who knows... Anyway fingers crossed ^^.
Yeah, If I had to guess, IE11 final could be released in Late November, as they wouldn't release it on a Patch Tuesday.
