    Hi,
I keep reading about KB971033 but it has never appeared in my list of updates (I update regularly). I checked intalled updates and it's not there either.
Must say that I have a Slic 2.1 modified bios and "i'm still genuine".

    Anyone with the same experience?

Well... It was an optional update... There was no check box against it... So, if you let windows automartically download and istall, then I would venture this did not get installed...

I downloaded it by clicking on the check box, and I passed the WAT test on line.

My SLIC was modded to 2.1 and I applied the certificate & license..

Really weird.. I stumbled onto this forum and found out about this update.. I then noticed mine too was redflagged. I removed the update.. reinstalled the loader, went directly to validation and passed. I tooked the extra step in the task manager to remove the 90 recall check .. but 5 days later still ok...

remember if anyone installed the previous version posted here the pre released one a lot of people are not seeing it in win updates due to it seeing they already have it. not sure that is your case but worth a mention

Did you validate through MS's website? If so that installs it.

the pre-released one installed on one of my machines called home on 12th feb and set the next check for 13/05 in the rask scheduler. The official version showed up on the 17th. Duly installed it, it also called home on the 17th, but didnt set a new tak in the task scheduler. Bit strange.

    Hi,
Not as far as I kow - Unless it's done it automatically, which I doubt. The point I raised was that it doen't appear anywhere. If it were installed, it would appear in the 'intalled updates', wouldn't it ?

How do you remove 90 day recall check? Can you be a little detailed?

Win7 Ult Spanish here, and windows update doesn't show any KB971033 yet. I haven't installed the leaked update nor validated online.

Well, I suppose I'll have to wait for the international flavor of WAT :p

"This pre-release version of Windows 7 Ultimate will expire in 0 hours. To keep using Windows, back up your files, and then install any edition of Windows 7 Ultimate"
I'm new here. I have no idea what is happening. and I haven't installed KB917033 as the settings are manual. Set the manual setting, as I had issues previously due to an update.

    Right.
    So what's the question?
You don't have proper windows 7 installed: you have a pre-release version which was widely advertised as expiring like it just has.
    Why are you surprised?
To fix it, do as it says: Wipe and re-install the final RTM version of windows 7.

    Why not?
It tells you what's happening in the message you posted.
    Can't you read?

And like a few others, I haven't yet received the KB971033 update.
Is there a particular reason for M$ to act differently?
    Any ideas?
