I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this (even though I searched for about 10-15 minutes and could not find this topic being answered), but has anybody come up with a way yet to upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 doing an in-place upgrade so no applications, drivers, etc. have to be re-installed? I know installations will be able to do in-place upgrades using the Windows Store but I've only seen activations regarding complete-wipe upgrades. I'm not particularly worried about activation at this point since I know I'll be able to activate on 8.1...but actually doing the in-place upgrade is what I'm wondering about right now. Anybody know if it can be done?
I have done it a couple of times successfully. I just didn't like seeing he old windows folder with a bunch of data still on the hard drive. I ended up doing a fresh install but there was nothing wrong with just the upgrade.
