if i have a new laptop with home premium on it, is it possible to do an in place upgrade with ultimate since it already has a bios with slic 2.1 in it? or would i still have to change the cert?
Upgrading Windows 7 on new computer Hey folks, I'm a newbie on this site and on installing Windows 7, so please bear with me... Have bought a new Toshiba laptop, but it only has the home edition of Windows 7, 64-bit. I would like to upgrade to Professional or Ultimate, and also remove all of the junk software that comes on the Best Buy computers. Are their some specific instructions available on how to accomplish this? ie, what BitTorrents to download and how to do the upgrade and remove the junk softgware... Thanks in advance.
Insert the key in the anytime upgrade as others have said, as for the bloat from the OEM, it would probably be fairly easy to just uninstall the items you want to do away with than to do a clean install. However. If you want an absolutely clean install, download an image from the repository sticky, install it and activate it with daz's loader using the option to install on a system that allready has the SLIC. Just post a question in Daz's program based loader thread for instruction on how to install cert and key only. It's so easy a caveman can do it.
