If you manage a bunch of systems its way easier to download what you need to quickly build a complete image. I do a lot of charity work and there is no way I would ever go back to installing and then updating. Base + updates + drivers + unattended = press go and do something else.
You don't need a forum full of experts analysing every detail of the patches and their implementation and even more in order to use Windows Update. I don't see any issue in using Windows Update if this is your choice. Some (most) of us prefer to have more control.
check your device manager make sure driver is not having any conflicts...if u log in with a MS account remember they dont use bio metrics for log in....im not having any issues with mine.
Use dism myself. Shut off WU, download from catalog, update manually. Main concern is they don't have the best record for releasing solid updates. Seen some pretty big problems pop up, don't have much faith in their quality control. Like to see a little mileage on updates first. I've not yet run into a big problem bringing up the rear like that.
If you make ISO from .ESD or .UUP then yes you have the option to make ISO with only Win 10 Pro x64 EN-GB.ISO
Hello guys, I'm running the latest w10 build (1809) with all the updates and since a few day i have some freezes ( i have to reboot), i have the feeling it's because of google chrome but i cannot be sure...I do a clean with ccleaner then uninstall google chrome, then reinstall, same issues. I do a sfc /scannow, all is fine. I didn't install s**tty software or something...What can i do to solve this issue..I don't want to do a windows reinstallation. Thanks
Maybe uncheck the option for Chrome to run in the background after closing. Also for a sanity check run the Windows memory checker program.
In the Event Viewer, you should be able to find what exactly cause the freeze. Memory Checker or memtestx86 are almost useless for memory stability, they are good at point out (very) bad RAM overclocks and/or defective RAM sticks. A lot of RAM related instability is from badly implemented XMP, which unlike most people think, it's just a generic IMC/RAM OC, which might or might not work. If you OC anything and have stability issues, you have to drop any and all OCs and retest, including CPU, GPU, RAM. To everyone else: Are you able to Expand Task Manager>Users>*username*? I am 99.9% this used to work in .134 and 1809 in general. in .194 I cannot expand that at all, tried launching TM as admin and it still didn't work. I know UWP apps can be rest, can you rest TM, or there's another step to perform?
uninstall chrome and try using the edge browser does it still freeze, I find I have to refresh the edge browser once in a while but its useable . also the edge browser according to MS is going to have its internals changed to chrome open source so if you can wait you can have the best of both worlds !
