Have tried to do an inplace upgrade using 19042.572 iso. It requests the Product Key. Which I don't have. Is there a method to do the upgrade without this?
you don't have the propriety of terms inplace upgrade = reinstalling the same version (and edition) while keeping data & programs, often the last resort to fix configuration bugs what you're after is plain version upgrade or how microsoft calls them "feature update" and to do that all you need is a business iso (aka volume / vl) that has Enterprise edition on it you can't easily download such an iso, but you can easily create one yourself with the help of MCT (Media Creation Tool) and some launch options get the script from here, select 20H2 when asked, then select "Windows 10 Enterprise / Pro / Edu vl" and make an iso or run upgrade when asked about a key, click I don't have a product key, then select Enterprise edition
- I have ran the MCT script but once I select 20H2 it offers no more options, but goes and creates the install image which of course fails....I do not see any disabled options in the .bat script that will enable those Enterprise/Pro/Edu options. What to do next?
It's right there at the Select language, architecture, and edition screen inside MCT. Click the edition combobox right in the middle. But anyway, doing it with a 1507 iso should stand more chances.

Now you're on a no longer supported enterprise N You just had to create the 19042.572 N or any other still supported build enterprise N containing ISO and mounted it in explorer and run setup.exe. And nowhere you mentioned you were using the N version.
I have now done so and updated to 19042.572 Enterprise N...many thanks for your help. It is now downloading KB4579311
Thanks guys. I have one more issue - I need to install the current MTP USB driver - but not the whole Media pack. Is there a download I can get? Thanks.
