I have a "CoreConnected" aka "with Bing" Windows 8.1 laptop from walmart that is full of software I don't want and has a horrible recovery system. I was hoping to install virgin windows 8.1 from a MSDN iso and used en_windows_8.1_with_update_x64_dvd_4065090.iso which installed the professional version and didn't take the authentication key I had extracted from the bios. I made an ei.cfg to tell it to install the Core edition which installed, but that was when I learned that I actually needed CoreConnected for my key to work. I edited EditionId to be CoreConnected, and the installer complained that this EditionId didn't exist. Do I have to wait for Windows 8.1 with Update 2 before I can install CoreConnected fresh? Is there some other MSDN iso that contains CoreConnected?
There are no CoreConnected MSDN isos. They are strictly OEM skus, much like CoreSingleLanguage and CoreCountrySpecific
Thank you. I found CoreSingleLanguage pretty easily here: "47732-The-Windows-8-1-(-amp-related)-Repository" (too low post count to post links) is there a similar thread with OEM sku isos? I'm not finding that as easily.
Would still be interesting to know if Setup Box offers that version. It took my generated Retail Key for CoreConnected but refused the download for my region.
hi all .. existe ISO Core Connected SL with Bing Update and Core Connected Update with Bing final ? (not that of WZD PRE-RELEASE DATE: 15/02/2014) Spoiler
"This product key cannot be used to install a retail version of Windows 8.1" I am aware of the pre-release from February, should that be considered to be a quality install these days? Do we expect that a more official CoreConnected iso will become available in the next few months, or ever?
It says it isn't available in the country/region I am in using the key from PM. So what do we expect for the future of CoreConnected, is it inevitable that an official ISO will become available in time, or might it never happen?
Would guess it's the same as with CoreSingleLanguage, where no official ISOs exist either. May be abbodi1406 or ambidav, the guys which figured out how to download CoreSingleLanguage ESDs, have a clue .

From what I've seen Coreconnected (Bing) is the same as Core but is very cheap to buy & can only be sold with cheap hardware. The oem's aren't aloud to tweak much and the list I've seen only includes a default Bing key for OA3 only...
