ok, so I want to make a custom WinPE image, and I want to able to type "install OS-NAME-HERE". I want to know if this is possible at all. I have images of windows 7 Ultimate SP1 for 64-bit and 32-bit, I have XP SP3 I have no need for cracks or anything having to do with activation, I have that covered. I am using winPE 3.something, the latest. I just need to know if I can get the batch file to start install.exe or something that will start the installation of that OS. Hlp please
I don't know how to install xp, but for vista or 7 you need to integrate some OS installation packages into winpe. I think one general install package, and then either a client or server package + langpacks for each. When booting this pe it automatically runs the setup program, but I think you can change this and let a batch call the setup program. The latest winpe is 3.1 btw, it's used by win7 sp1 disks and it's in the waik for windows 7 sp1 supplement.
Visit LastOS.org and ask someone there, they have been doing that for ages (since Vista). The way they have it is so that a shortcut to the install.exe will be placed on the desktop of your PE, so you just double-click it from there and install your OS.
Yes, the shortcut probably leads to the install.exe inside the winpe image, this install.exe comes with the winpe packages.
THANK YOU!!!!!!! I will check out that LastOS.org in case you guys are curious, I plan on making an external USB HDD my ultimate computer repair tool. I am hopefully gonna find a way to get Win7 XP and maybe a linux distro on there along with all the programs that someone could possible want on there computer + cracks for all oh yeah, one more thing, How do you make a GUI for WinPE. I have so far been living with the command line, do you use *.HTA applications or something???
