I currently own an Asus M51AC motherboard. When I updated the BIOS some time ago I noticed that the BIOS file name was Code: H87M-PRO-ASUS-M51AC-1002.CAP Whereas H87M-PRO's one was: Code: H87M-PRO-ASUS-2102.CAP After some search, I noticed that the M51AC motherboard was in fact a rebranded H87M-PRO motherboard, without the 2 eSata ports (just search on Google Images, you'll see that the two are identical). I'd like to know if there is a way to force install the BIOS, or to edit it to make the motherboard think it's a real M51AC BIOS. It would offer me a little bit more customizing options and settings. Also, do you guys think I should do it (if it's possible)? Or try some other mods?
flash with hardware programmer the chip.. the asus .cap remove first 7FF keeping the 800 to end for flashing as .bin with hexeditor
I never done such a thing. So, I don't if there's any guide on how to do it or if you could be more clear. Where can I buy a chip programmer (bios flasher(?))? Which programmer should I buy? Is the process reversible? Should I flash an old version of the current M51AC Bios? What if I do something wrong, is it easy to fix?
