Install hp printers on server 2008r2

    stresssssssssssssss..............we have HP 6980,6840,9300 & OFFICEJET PRO K8600 PRINTERS......HP DOES NOT OFFER DRIVERS FOR THESE PRINTERS ON SERVER 2008R2 (X64) OPERATING SYSTEM...I HAVE TRIED ALL THE OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS(EG WINDOWS 7 & VISTA)...NOTHING WORKS...HELP......

    I haven't done this since Vista and SVR2008 were released,
    but it worked then just like it did with XP and Win2K/Win2k3, so it may well still work. ;)

    1. Download the HP driver for the 'Cleint' Windows version.
    2. Extract the downloaded '.exe' file to its own folder. (7zip or Rar should work, if not use UniExtract)
    3. Open the 'autorun.inf' file look for the line that reads Overide=No
    4. Change it Overide=Yes
    5. Save the file and install the drivers from that folder.
    Optional:
    6. You can burn this folder to CD for future use.

    As I say. I haven't done this for years so I'm unsure if it will work with R2/2011 server versions or newer printers. :confused:
