    Sorry, I'm a bit curious. Windows 8 released on August 1, 2012, ie 7+ years ago, but You still installed RTM.
    Why? Is there some kind important info why just RTM, what I don't still know?

    @kaljukass

    Nothing special.
    Just did it for fun, as I'm always tinkering with something. ;)
    Last year I saw some people complaining about Microsoft preventing IE11 from being installed.
    Got some spare time and decided to look into it.

    Does it happen even with latest cumulative update KB4534283 installed?

    Sorry, but can't help you with this one, my last Radeon card was a 9600 Pro and can't blindly patch a driver.

    As the crash is caused by dxgkrnl.sys, probably AMD removed code supporting WDDM 1.2, so the DirectX Graphics Kernel, which that file is, goes nuts.

    Why does it matter that the latest Monthly Rollup is installed? Does it fix any issues that could affect the AMD GPU driver installation?

    There is always a chance that Microsoft backports a fix from Windows 8.1, maybe at the request of an OEM...

    Both links are dead. Do you still have the files?
