install win7 from usb external hdd

    is it possible??
    er in doors has just bought a netbook. so i updated the slic to 2.1 with the intention of installing win7..............i then reallized that theres no cd/dvd drive lol:)
    i have not got a usb mem card big enough yet to try that root.

    Yes, that is how I installed Windows 7. I plugged in my USB Maxtor 300GB one-touch and used WinRAR to extract the .iso image of Win7 to a folder on my USB HD...then ran the setup and installed Windows... Easy and a lot faster than installing off of a disc. ;)

    you also can install windows 7 from your local hard drive.
