Seems your 1st post missed the correct thread.

Answer: BIG NO!!! You'll need to upgrade from legit system once in order to be able to install fresh.

Definitely not. I just tried it. The key was not accepted.

I tried upgrading from win 7 sp1, upgrade asked for a key, NO way to skip it, unactivated after install, trying to upgrade from 8.1 see what happens

I have one Vista OEM license for PC. Vista was preinstaled and most likely activated - it was installed only once by OEM partner. Soon after buying the PC I switched to Windows 7 and did not use OEM key. The PC is broken since 2013 and can not be fixed (motherboard and graphic card died).
Can I use this Vista OEM key on other PC (completely different hardware) after calling Microsoft, telling them the PC I had OEM license died, upgrading from Vista to 7 on other PC and then upgrading it to Win10?
