Either your CPU is not supported (there was some new requirement) or NX/PAE/SSE2 is turned off or you have faulty hardware somewhere.
nah, this box came with Vista and should be able to handle 8.1 as well. Problem seems to be somewhere else
coleoptere2007@ Not the first time with 8.1 i changed the hard drive and the same problem This problem is widespread
If Vista means eternal life for hardware I'll go and install Vista on all of my PCs right now. I never have to buy hardware again.
you misunderstood it. Most machines I had in my hands since 8/8.1 came out had no install problems when it was shipped originally with Vista but all that came with XP mostly failed
Have you got a Ralink network card, I had the same problem, and after removing the network card I had no issue's installing windows 8.1, was not a problem in windows 8 at all.
The way I always use to check something like this is...making that Windows 8 Edition-2-Go. Then boot to Windows-2-Go from that computer and another then see what happens?!?
