Install_wim_tweak help needed

    Hi
    I have used Install_wim_tweak to remove packages from install. Wim
    Mounted wim using dism removed bunch of packages using Install_wim_tweak then used dism to Unmount image.

    Stock wim was 1856packages and 3.52gb

    After I removed packages wim has 1842packages and 3.63gb

    How come wim file became bigger after removing packages?

    Did I do someone wrong?

    Don't think you did owt wrong, it is strange how that works out..

    You could compress the install.wim after doing your work

    Changing the paths to suit your layout.


    One of the first things I do before altering the install.wim. Be it Win 7,8 or 10.
    I use roughly the same code and I export the Index I wish to use and ditch the others.
    i.e for Win 7 Ult I get my image and use this code

    Checking first to see what Index Ultimate is at.

    As for Win 10 Pro

    I think you have to export the WIM or the free space wouldn't be recovered, more or less, like deleting some files from a CD-RW.

    T-S you're right I had to export for the dism to remove some crap out of wim.
