I have a dell laptop that came with win 7 factory installed. Long story shot i decided to try a fresh win 7 iso on it, so i simplixed a win 7 ultimate iso with the tool made by Enthousiast, installation went smooth and everything but after some tests with fresh OS i decided that i will stick with the factory Win7 that the computer had, instead. Now comes the problem: During installation on the simplixed iso i noticed the SSD had 3 partition in total: OEM: around 100mb Recovery: around 13gb OS: the rest of the gigabytes I was very careful to not touch OEM and recovery partition so i only formatted “OS” partition and put simplixed win 7 on it. Every other time that I wanted to factory restore this notebook i just pressed F8 during boot and i was able to find the option to factory restore. Now that option is gone and the recovery tool has been replaced by the one you see in the first image. (Factory restore was the last option on the list) OEM and Recovery partitions are still intact of course as you see from pic n.2 Please help (I dont have any image dvd nor a dvd reader)
Cant upload pics no matter what i try. How do i add mbr entry to recovery partition? Or how do i check if its UEFi? Anyway now the system recovery options (accessed with F8 at boot) show Smart Fix tool and DaRT. So installing the simplixed iso has replaced the system recovery opetions. I just need to get the stock ones back with the voice “restore to factory”
Oh, seems like Dell added it customly. You need to manually restore recovery partition and then it should be back to normal. There are some tools for doing that I think.
But recovery partition was left untouched during my installation of the simplixed iso, i knew I would need it in the future. Only explanation is that this menu was not in recovery partition but it was on the OS partition. Now the simplixed iso has installed its own custom menu
I don't think installing drivers or apps from Dell will readd the specific entry as it's in WinRE.wim.
Alright, so are you aware of any method i can use to get that menu back or start the recovery process from the 13gb partition?
