HI, I just upgraded my Lenovo Laptop to Windows 10 just now. Now the wireless is not getting switched on. Whats wrong ?
I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro and I too didn't see any adapter, wireless or otherwise when I click "Change adapter settings". I downloaded the latest driver from windows 10 through my phone and installed it from my PC and still I didn't see any adapter. Finally I had to clean install Windows 7 again to get everything in working condition.
you should look for a new W10 Lenovo driver for your machine since MS sometimes doesn't have all them available at the beginning
on lenovo pcs, usually you have to install not just the drivers but also the button service and / or other helpers. Better to install the thinkvantage updater and install the missing pieces with it
One important note if your WI_FI doesn't work or turn on check your Services and Applications, services parameter for WLAN AutoConf, it seems on the updates to 10 it's being turned off and that's the reason your WI-FI won't work. I had the same problem on all my 802.11n adapters on the upgrades to 10, and the WLAN was the fault.
In my case my adapter gets recognized w/o problems but for whatever reason it can't connect to my network. A quick reset from the troubleshoot fixes the issue. The reason may very well be "WI_FI doesn't work or turn on check your Services and Applications, services parameter for WLAN AutoConf" I'll have to look into this.
i had the same problem. there is an option ine device properties under power tab. it says something like "let windows turn this device off for power ...". i had unchecked this. and the problem disappeared.
If anyone has installed the software along with the wifi driver, then in notifications in taskbar, you should see connect, this checks and searches for wifi connections.
