Hi all, I've a question that i hope one of you guys can answer. Is it possible to run an executable so that a program writes everything into just 1 specific folder rather that registry, drivers folders etc. I've trawled the net and can't get an answer for this. I really need to know if this can be done and if so, how. Thanks in advance,
Cheers Tito for the quick reply. But would this enable me to run the executable so the software install and can then be viewed within the portable app i.e. see all files and folders which make up the software??
I can't post a screenshot of what i'm talking about exactly but here's a link to it: http: //i.imgur.com/pM6b2.png I had to put a few spaces after http: to post the link
I got the idea!! You want to gather all the files, reg entries, shortcuts created by a typical installer in one place to get the idea what is inside it... isn't it?? As far I know, there is no one-click tool for this, as different setup uses different layouts But you can use the comparing feature of VMWare Thinapp to get a idea about what is changed in the system after installing a software, i.e new files, shortcuts & registry entries.
Cheers Tito I'll give it a try. Can i view all the files folders within VMWare thin as if it was actually installed on my PC?
