I want to re-install vista on my new comp but when I sopke to the guy in the shop, were I bought me new machine, he said he advised against it because it will kill the previous installion or could kill the machine. I got the feeling he was just scare mongering for some reason. I have installed xp more times than I care to remember so I am pretty confident I can do a fresh install of vista. When I have installed xp, I have booted from cd and have never had any problems with it whatsoever. Can anything go wrong when I re-install vista???? Can I boot the installaion from cd??? A tutorial would be nice guys. Any help or tips on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance

You should be able to boot off the dvd, and run the install that way, the install is not really that much different than XP was, if you know how to install XP your fine.
