Hey I will install W8 enterprise on my dell latitude e6220. I got a dvd with the 32 bit enterprise iso and a txt file with te key from my oncle who is IT boss in a big company in my country. The txt file with the key says "works for pro and enterprice". However, when i boot the dvd, it wont boot.. It only give me the blue w8 screen, but it wont go longer. A pop up says i need the 64 bit iso.. Can I download the 64 bit w8 enterprice iso from mdl and use my key..?? I suppose its an master key because the the company use the same key on hundred of w8 computers.. Next qestion: Is the language packs avabile in WU in enterprise?? I need nb-NO language..
I believe that u can use your key with no problem...and YES you can find on MDL what version of Windows you want.I downloaded a version writed in my native language and language pack is not need anymore...
yes you can download an authentic copy from anywhere and use your key, then download the appropriate language for you + 1 for Free , he is correct
I'm a bit confused about this message saying it wants 64bit iso. never had the issue that the machine wants a certain bit version. Depending on the amount of ram you normally can decide taking 32 or 64 bit. The other question about the download of the 64 version concerning your key certainly is to be answered with a clear yes as you can use valid keys for either version. LP should come with the optional language settings per separate download
My native language is integrated in ISO.From the begining is in Romanian so I not need to setup my location and other things....Downloaded from MDL .ISO untouched MSDN but I cannot find the link for now....
@PaulDesmond On my machine with 8 GB RAM I tried to install x32 Windows and is won't install...not at all...
funny. There seems to be a preselected version which should be installed when having more than 4 gig ram. I'm sure there is a way around but I don't know atm.
Thanks for quick answares Im dovnloading the 64 bit iso from MDL just now. No chance to install 32 bit W8 on my dell i have 4gb ddr 3 ram.
certainly 64 gets you better performance but there is no answer yet about the decision taking 32 or 64. The resriction must be hidden somewhere
If you buy a Upgrade retail box, you you get 2 Discs (64bit/32bit) The box tells you if you don't know which you need you should begin with 32bit, the Setup will tell you if you have to switch to the x64 disc. Surprisingly the MSDN Isos have the same "limitation" ? It's actually pretty clever, as you can outphase x86 Windows by simply forcing everyone who can fully utilize x64 to actually install x64
PaulDesmond, Could u share better performance in what aspect. I am curious coz i had never tried the 64bit. thank u in advance
There isnt really any performance increase, but... If you have a x64 compatbile cpu and MORE than 4GB Ram, you are completly wasting it if you install x86, if you have less then 4GB don't install x64 bit even if your cpu is x86_64
Its in norwegian. (when trying to install 32 bit) Same message even when booting w8 or try to run from W7.
It wouldn't hurt to tell us how much RAM you have. NVM, i skipped a post it seems, well if you install x86 on 4GB ram you can only utilize something like 3.5GB or so, so thats maybe why it's wanting you to install x64
The only advantages of 64 bit is to fully utilize the amount of ram. No performance increase at all ? Then i'll stay with 32 bit.
Strange about your DELL, I would like to know what Dell you have.... reason for Dell AI2305 4GB DDR3 memory. dual boot. Windows 8 x86 (32b) Pro and Windows 8 x64 (Enterprise)
