I have 4 dell OptiPlex GX620. With the end of windows XP, I have secured dell windows 7 32bit disc. Is there a way to customize this software that I don't have to enter a product key for activation?

    Thanks.

Just install it as a trial version and download something to take care of it....if you catch my drift.....

I'm a n00b and don't know what is ok to discuss here.

I thought installing from Dell OEM media on Dell hardware would result in automatic activation. You may not have to do anything. Disclaimer: I could be way wrong!

If the BIOS has the serial/certificate embedded then yes it works.

Yep, BIOS mod just might be an excellent non "cloak & dagger" solution

No for windows 7 only SLIC 2.1 in bios then matching certificate and oem:slp serial number. Good thing about Dell is all SLICS from 2.0 to 2.3 are backwardly compatible along with certificates  then just add OEM:SLP serial number for your version of required windows :D

Yea... so with Windows 7, you just need a SLIC 2.1 BIOS, the XRM-MS "key" (file) and the OEM serial number.

    Process is:
Flash BIOS with a modded SLIC 2.1 BIOS. (Wish I could attach the modded BIOS. I got it here...)
    Copy over the Dell.XRM-MS file
Run the slmgr command to "import" the file
Run the slmgr command to put in the key
BAM! Automatically activated. (Basically, an OEM activation method.)

I've done quite a few GX620's this way.
