Hello Just wanted to know if I can install Win 8 from any usb 3.0 flash drive on any laptop / desktop or tablet WHICH has USB 3.0 port present ? Thnx
Yes, you can. For Tablets there's is exception that those Tablets must be run with an x86 Architecture/CPU. On supported ARM based Tablets you could use Windows (8) RT, which not works on x86 machines. To use USB 3.0 Sticks/HDD's that machine must have an comp[atible USB Chip. May it wouldn't work on an USB 2 port such as on my Acer Aspire 4752G I could use for USB 3.0 only the single USB 3.0 port and not one of the USB 2 ports.
Yeah this reply is for me .. I have Acer Iconia W700P I have support as for UEFI so for EFI and for Legacy BIOS .. So what u mean usb chip ? U mean in USB 3.0 flash drive ? Which is the best to buy usb 3.0 flash drive? Thanx
Honestly? I would take the Tablet and test the Stick you like to buy first! An honest dealer would do that for you! The stick should be accepted by Windows! In older machine 1-2 years or older, some USB 3.0 Chips may having an compatibility problem like in my Acer Aspire 4752G on which I could use the USB 3.0 devices on the USB 3.0 port only and they'll not work on the USB 2 ports of the same laptop! And just think about not to test UBS 3.0 Sticks only, also test USB 3.0 External HDD's. I use mainly Acer 500GB which working on all computers I tested till now, and that's a lot of them! For THN 1,500 (US$ 50.00) I get an 500GB USB 3.0 external HDD. That would also brings a lot more space to your Tablet, which you may need for Windows 8 on it!! Think about and test!
I already have samsung 1TB in usb 3.0 enclosure mate What I need is install win 8 fastest as poss from usb 3.0 flash drive connected to usb 3.0 port on my iconia w700p
Theoretically the max USB 3.0 speed from Sticks is up to 5Gb/s (Gigabit/second) while in reality, it's depend what Memory/Flash Modules are used in that USB 3.0 stick! It could be much more slow than any HDD! Ans a minute or two or so didn't harm anybody, did they?!
