I want to install windows on a new hard drive/ssd for it to be transfered into another system
This is possible if i use the regular method, just stop/unplugged the hdd until the first wave completed (pick language, formatting, copying/installing), so no driver's from my system is loaded resulting in clean installing the windows when it transferred.

My question, is it possible ito do that in a live working system? Preferably within live windows, so i could skip the hassle of shutting down my system, unplugging my OS drive, setting the bios, reboot, etc.

What tools/software do i need? what settings should i apply? does it work in both uefi/efi?
I've tried vmware but i just don't understand how to configure it..

If you have done it or maybe have an idea, please share. Thanks

Create the needed partitions on the new disk, deploy windows with dism /apply-image etc..., make your system bootable with bcdboot.

Install it in a vm, in audit mode, and sysprep/capture it.

Or install it on real hardware, in audit mode, and sysprep/capture it from a winpe environment. Or when dual booting, capture the other install from the original install.

If you want to have control over the settings. audit/sysprep/capture and use the install.wim for new installs, you will have full control and not a clone.

Yes, it's working with your method. I'm not getting used to enough since it's complicated, so it'll be my last resort if the other fails.
