I know that some enterprise, embedded versions have the ability to be installed on to usb flash drive or sd card etc. And can boot from them. I know that Xp posready 2009 have this feature, but is there any more version of windows that can support this feature ? Where can i find a list if there is any in existence ? ;P

Yeah i'm aware that windows to go exist but its no longer supported. i'm kinda looking for something that is still supported and also curious about other versions that can also do this even if they are no longer supported.

I'm not looking for any tools, just curious which versions of windows supports this natively.

It's available in 1903/1909 Enterprise. And even if the control panel applet isn't there, I can guarantee you that the WIM API in 2004 still supports it. Try making a Windows To Go drive using Rufus and see for yourself.

Well anyway, my point is that i have specific application that can only be deployed on windows, and the hardware is not particularly new. So im kinda looking for options. Throw at it something old and forget it, but this is not a great option because it have to be connected to Internet, another option is to install something new that still receiving security updates. Basically i need just secure environment to do one, two task's and thats it. It doesn't have to be fast or anything so running this from a usb is a not bad of a option.

So use Rufus to make a WTG drive and be done with it. Why you seem to want to over-complicate something so simple is beyond me.
