    Hello all,

This is for days which I'm on integrating updates into Office 2010 but there are some issues about it.

    1. I downloaded & extracted Office 2010 With SP1 Volume Edition x86 (MSDN Untouched).
    2. Removed all files in the Updates folder.
    3. Extracted SP2 x86 setup file and copied everything into Updates folder.
All worked very fine until this step.

    4. Downloaded all Office 2010 post-SP2 updates with WHD and it gives me 202 MSP files.
    5. When I wanted to copy MSP files into Updates folder, I noticed that there are 35 files which have same name in the Updates folder.

And all of them are Proofing updates for all 35 languages.

The problem is that in the SP2-only files, there are 35 MSPs of Proofing tools for Office in all 35 languages.
And in the latest updates, all of that 35 MSP files are again present.

They are not duplicate, their version and size are different from each other, but the nice point is that all of the original setup files (I mean SP2 files) are larger than updated files.

So, I have some options at this moment,
Copy all MSPs into updates folder and for those files which their name are same:
    1. Replace new files with old files.
    2. Keep both files and rename newer files with (2).
    3. Keep both files and rename older files with (2).
    4. Don't copy these 35 MSPs and keep old files.

I also tried keeping XML + TXT files and Removing them from updates folder.

But all of them returned failed and at the end of the setup it says 'Some updates were not installed' and when I check for updates it shows me more than 120 MB updates including SP1 for office 2010, so I am very sure this method makes Office 2010 installation corrupted.

Any ideas or opinions on this problem?

    Best Regards,

In fact, I recall acrsn having a great thread on this. Based on his thread and using MTK, I have downloaded:
    1. office 2010 rtm
    2. office 2010 sp2

Integrated 1 and 2 into a single installer thru MTK.

3 Downloaded all post sp2 updates through regular usage and new system install.
    4. Install these post sp2 updates as the smaller x-none files. Overwrite newer monthly ones on top of earlier ones to keep my local file upto date.

I do not think post sp2 updates can be integrated into single installer.

The point with 4 is that I have downloaded the updates over the course of months following sp2. You can perhaps also do that by checking windows updates (thus avoiding superseded updates) or WHD.
Now say I downloaded the updates in Aug 2013. I extracted the x-none files and kept those.
Then downloaded the sep 2013 updates, extracted the x-none files and overwrote the earlier files.
    And so on.
Laborious process but as of now, after installing all x-none updates (after installing office 2010 with sp2), I get perhaps 1-2 updates of less than 10MB thru windows updates.
You can use WHD too for the same results for 4.

Security Update for Microsoft Excel 2010 (KB2826033) 32-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2553284) 32-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2687423) 32-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2760781) 32-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2826023) 32-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2826035) 32-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2850016) 32-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Outlook 2010 (KB2837597) 32-Bit Edition
Security Update for Microsoft Word 2010 (KB2863902) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Access 2010 (KB2553446) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Filter Pack 2.0 (KB2810071) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2553092), 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2589298) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2589352) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2589375) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2597087) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2760598) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2794737) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2825640) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2826026) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2850079) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft OneNote 2010 (KB2810072) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 (KB2553145) 32-Bit Edition
Update for Microsoft Visio Viewer 2010 (KB2810066) 32-Bit Edition

I downloaded all these 25 updates EXE files and integrated all of them with MTK 2.5 into Office 2010 SP2 and installation failed with error 'Some updates were not installed' and after I checked update this time, it shows me 3 updates.
    1. SP1 for Office 2010, not whole package, only KB2510690 => 35.1 MB
    2. KB2598242, I think it's original Proofing update, it's whole size is 140 MB but Windows Update only needs 24.8 MB of it, don't know which localizations exactly.
    3. KB2760631, don't have any opinion what the hell is this update, it's only 433 KB.

I don't know how to solve this problem, it's just getting more complicated, I think some updates are non-integrable and if you try to integrate them, your whole installation will get corrupted, but I don't know which update of those 25 updates causes this issue.

    Any help?
