    Intel 82865 Video Controller/Windows 7

    Well all was good installing Windows 7 on this older board. The only problem is the Video Controller drivers for Windows 7. It's an Intel 865 board that has a 82865 controller. Seems they can't be had or hard to find. Sure would appreciate any links or help on this.

    thanks

    Just use driver update (orginal should be some kind of Standard VGA adapter something like that) and point to the folder ialmnt5.inf.

    you need to update both video adapter drivers and reboot to go. My old laptop with 855 working fine, inside the inf i found 865 and the following, you can check your hardware property as well:

    %iMGM% = i852GM, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3582
    %iSDG% = i865G, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2572
    %iGDGD0% = i915G0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2582
    %iGDGD1% = i915G1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2782
    %iALVD0% = i915GM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2592
    %iALVD1% = i915GM1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2792

    iMGM = "Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)"
    iSDG = "Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)"
    iGDGD0 = "Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)"
    iGDGD1 = "Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)"
    iALVD0 = "Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)"
    iALVD1 = "Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)"

    Install just fine. Thanks. I was wondering if there are WDDM drivers for this as well so she can use Aero option.

    Correct. Just tried the Trailer Park Boys. Started up and then shut down. Sure would be nice to get updated drivers.
