Intel Gaussian & Neural Accelerator = Neural Processing Unit?

    I'm hearing a lot about NPUs and that Windows 12 may have this as a minimum system requirement...

    11th gen and later Intel processors have something called Gaussian & Neural Accelerator - GNA.

    It shows up in Windows Device manager without a proper driver.

    Intel describes it as a "Neural Co-Processor".

    Is GNA an example of the so-called NPU?​
