Not much that we were not already aware of...TBH I'm thinking with ProfessionalS... the S stands for small footprint (IoT edition) - replacing Embedded.. such that Industry -> EnterpriseS, Standard -> ProS...
free ones Windows 10 Home Windows 10 Mobile Windows 10 Pro not free ones Windows 10 Enterprise Windows 10 Education Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise
Not seeing anything really new, same Windows 8.1 hierarchy unless they kill the Core variants (SL, Bing, China)
Win 8.1 Core variants is what we are talking about. Do you actually know CoreSingleLanguage, CoreConnectedSingleLanguage, Pro for Education, CoreConnected, etc. ? They are OEM editions hard to find.
why cant they ever stick to enterprise or pro, windows 8 had like 10 different editions and only pro/enterprise was needed for 99% of people
It is free. For Volume Licensing Customers with Software Assurance. Which if you work in Education (like me) you will (should) have. __ On another note, I like how Education is set above Enterprise in feature set. There are a lot of things you have to do differently in education. Hopefully a dedicated version will allow you to do all these things much easier, but also include all the enterprise features!
The free are like windows 7 editions : Home (for regular users) Pro (for business users) What with Starter ?
I'm reading that unless you buy the business edition, you have no control over which Windows Updates come in? If so, MS is being careful about how they word things; they will lie through their teeth to fool people into believeing that removing an essential feature while turning your PC into a toaster oven is a good thing. Watch out for their word play. As long as you keep buying the cancer known as Windows, you continue to support the "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish" company which will go to no end in order to turn the largest profit possible. MS doesn't care about you or your privacy. MS is grasping at straws with the current irrelvancy of Windows, and is trying to drive devs to code apps for their trashy store which is dead. You need to have devs to have a store, and the store needs activity to attract interest. Since both of the aforementioned statements are negatives, the store is DOA. Windows 10 is a backdoored (kill switch built in) OS, being a front end for Microsoft's attempts to get ignorant users to buy into the SaaS nonesense. Once you're sucked into SaaS, MS hopes you won't be able to exit since you are so reliant on having your data stored on SpyDrive and using MS cloud apps. Microsoft does not fool me, nor have they ever.
There is no Windows 10 business edition. Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise has Windows update for business feature built in.
