can someone give me some links or help on how to recover the bios on a HP/ASUS IPIBL-LA motherboard, it has a AMI bios.... I've been trying to help a friend recover; been walking em threw a couple of methods using amiboot.rom on a floppy, with not much success....

apparently the floppy does read but the system starts beeping at the end and not doing much else......

    (OP)
I had tried walking em threw method 2 (asus only) with no success...... currently other friend is trying to walk em threw stuff too.....

one thing I'll note, the hp usb boot utility that it lists... the guy is claiming it doesn't list the floppy drive; which kinda loses me cause that does make sense cause I think that's a utility to make usb sticks bootable(I've used the same utility to make a bootable xp install usb still:p), but unsure.....

am I missing something is there a method to make it point to the floppy drive... or should it normally?:S

as an alternative to the hp bootdisk utility, I got em to try was using bootme.exe(win me boot disk maker) from bootdisk.com and then deleting content and then following the rest of the guide.... result is what I said above.......

asphix, your method I've passed over to my friend who's currently trying to help em..... hopefully all will go good.....

That tool is only for USB Devices.
With an older Floppy he just needs to format a Disk with Windows and check the box to make it an MS-DOS Start-up Disk.
