Hello World, I want to know your thoughts on customising Windows OS offline(MSMG ToolKit, NTLite, etc.) worth the time & efforts?
If you have to ask: No If you want to learn and have lots of time to spare: Yes It's like a hobby, I guess. To me, fishing is not worth the time and effort.
Indeed, one major drawback is that one has to repeat the same process(customising & performing In place upgrade) again and again whenever Microsoft releases updates in order to have the latest updates installed on the system.
Well, I'm sure there will be lots more "interesting" replies to your question, I can already guess most of them.
Depends. If you get money from it (e.g. adsense, if you have youtube channel where tons of millennials with update fetish always wait for your latest build), then it is worthy. Otherwise it is kinda waste of time. It is useful for creating a master file (i.e. base version of certain Windows but with your own configurations. For quicker setup if someday you need recovery or reinstall), but not for weekly/monthly renewal. Someone who never updates his Windows for years but suddenly installs the latest LCU, would still have the same version and features of Windows as someone who installs LCU every month.
No. It is absolutely unnecessary. I always install Windows only once and almost never reinstall it until major upgrade (eg. Win7 -> Win10). Properly modded Windows will install monthly cumulative updates normally with zero issues.
Aside that being sick with updates is just stupid for most of home users, and you can live safely even using XP and a bit of common sense. At least until LTSB 2016 a properly modded ISO will stay modded even if you do monthly updates. Packages removed by modding and restored by LCU is mostly a problem of W11 and recent W10. Which no one forces you to install.
