Hello, I try to upgrade windows 8 on my old pc(not that old as 7 is running smoothly) There is no "NX" or "XD" feature in processor,is there any way I can bypass the step and install windows 8 on this machine I have installed 8 on my laptop and I like it that is why i want to upgrade my desktop too but i don't wish to upgrade my hardware right now Any help will be appreciated Thanks
Actually the problem is not with driver but its a processor as there is no "active nx" option on my processor so i cannot install windows 8 by upgrade or usb on this desktop. I want to know is there any patch available or anyway to skip the step and install win 8 on old processor Thanks
still not able to insert link anyway you can see EFA11 link an that requirement is not availaable in my p4 processor
have u tried installing... did it give any error while doing so... or just by seeing requirements u didn,t try it... if so I am with odiebugs...
Newer P4's have NX but it could be BIOS-locked, so check with coreinfo or aida64, if CPU has NX but locked, you can BIOS unlock it and install win8. No NX, no go.
above result i got from sysinternals but i cannot find nx in bios odie:i am not fear of security as almost all av run quite good on my pc and i am on kaspersky pure with mbam and hitman pro
I think that you should first post the real and complete infos about your hardware using! That said, it means: CPU: Brand, Model, speed (in GHz), socket Mainboard: Brand, Model, Bios Brand and version Memory: amount and type With that info it's much more easy to get help because it tells us what we need to check it would or wouldn't work with Windows 8.

Haha, and now we still don't know this guy's system details. So everybody who came here to help is still wondering... What's more: We would like to know for future questions... That's what's so nice about forums like this: Later on somebody might have the same problem and could learn from your question, but only if you supply the specs!!!
I put Win8 on my girlfriends pc with the same cpu and it works no problem. Like the others have said without knowing the MB no one can help.
