I currently have an older Compaq (SR2173WM) with an A8M2N-LA board in it. The newest BIOS is version 5.07. The board natively supports AM2 CPUs, but I was wondering if it would be possible to mod a BIOS to accept AM2+ or AM3 boards? I am currently using an Athlon 6400+ @ 3.2GHz with an upgraded PSU (550W), so I don't think power will be a problem.

    This is the latest BIOS:

If anyone could confirm (or deny) that modding a BIOS to recognize AM2+/AM3 CPUs, that would be awesome.

    Thanks.
