is it possible to mod the bios of HP G60-445 DX to have 2.1 SLIC?

    Is it possible to mod a laptop bios? is it safe? I want to install windows 7 to my HP G60-445 DX laptop.

    Did you purchase your laptop without Windows Vista? If you did, search on the forums for a HP BIOS DMI tool to reveal the SLIC table masked by the BIOS.

    Otherwise, if it came with Windows Vista, it's safe to flash the latest version of the BIOS provided by HP. I don't think you need to mod the BIOS to run Windows 7 at all.

    Yes it came with a Windows Vista. So do you mean the latest bios version has 2.1 SLIC on it? I already checked if my current bios, it only has 2.0 SLIC. What I wanted is to do a fresh install to Windows 7 with OEM SLP Key activation.
