My brother has a company laptop with Windows 8.1 Enterprise installed on it and it was activated using a company MAK key - He's been told that it's very unlikely that the company will upgrade to Windows 10 but he wants to install it.

Is there anyway to upgrade his current setup to Windows 10 and stay activated?

Is there even a Windows 10 Enterprise edition available?

    Thanks in advance

no way. Enterprise is KMS activated by the company server or was activated with MAK (very unlikely). Upgrading to 10 ent means to activate against a compnay server again or buy a new MAK ... or use MTK as long as it works.
Enterprise 10 versions are available in all colors

    Not legitimatly, no.

But the better question is, why is he messing with his company's laptop? :p.

YES, since MS did & does offer a Enterprise Version - Download.. which will upgrade you Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

UNLESS HIS COMPANY BUY THE NEW MAK KEYS, OR UNLESS HE BUYS A NEW MAK KEY FROM MS
HE WILL HAVE TO USE A PIRATE KMS PROGRAM.

I purchased a MAK Windows 10 Enterprise KEY.

Since the company owns the laptop, and they say no 10, leave the damn thing alone. If he wants a machine that he can run 10 on, he should buy one, plain and simple. Depending on the rules where he works, he could very well loose his job by doing the upgrade.

    +1 on all others but..

He could just use vitualbox or any other and install and do a kms tool.
If he have the right rights he could even join the domain

To suggest to run pirated w10 on a company laptop???
It's up to the company providing him a new license....messing with a new install on ones own is a no-go (at least at a reasonable administrated company).

We have got MAK for w7....I never had to buy a Microsoft license myself, it's the job of the company.:)

It is a no-brainer. Your brother should toe the company line. If your brother ends up even dual-booting W10 Ent with W8.1 Ent on a company laptop, then he might have a tough sell ahead of him when caught by external IT/Legal Auditors.

    Legally, no.

ISO-wise, at least, two viz.: ENT and ENT LTSB(Long Term Support Branch).

Isn't Enterprise only available with SA? And if the SA agreement is up to date you can install any version of Windows. (But it will need new keys from MS.)

So what happens when your company gets audited, and you're running software you don't own the license for because you've let them install whatever they want?

I own the Company - and basically what ever the employee feels he wants to use, as long as they ask first. is OK.

Happy Employees make for good results... and NEVER been AUDITED. at the shop, take books to yes, but never had an AUDIT at the SHOP.
of yes the Shop is Computer Repair plus Sales and Service. plus we fix anything that a women/lady can carry in ...
